BHA Trees Ltd are an arboricultural consultancy company based in Cumbria and working throughout the UK.

Bruce Hatton, director, is an Arboricultural Association Registered Consultant and is a Chartered Arboriculturalist with the Institute of Chartered Foresters.

We provide arboricultural reports covering development, tree condition, health and safety, management, expert witness, subsidence, veteran trees.                    

Bruce specialises in tree hazard assessment using VTA and internal decay detection equipment (Picus Tomograph and Resistograph). 

He has a particular interest in tree-based aerial ropes courses, planning new courses and inspections of existing courses to improve methods of equipment attachment, avoiding invasive techniques. 

We carry out BS5837 surveys for individuals through to schools, architects and developers, advice on tree-related construction methodology and impact assessment on tree stock. 

Bruce has experience with planning appeals in support of work to or removal of TPO’d trees, as well as representing Local Authorities in their prosecution of TPO offences.
